Unbelievable agility and fitness level of Faf Du Plessis at the age of 40. He threw his body into the air to accomplish a stunner. The ball struck by Mitchell Bracewell was travelling at a bullet speed, but Plessis was faster than the travelling ball. "40 years young and just taken the catch of the season", said on air by the commentator.
The match number 2 of the ongoing Major League Cricket was between Texas Super Kings and MI New York (TSK vs MINY). Batting first, Super Kings notched 185 for 6 on the scoreboard in the first innings. Devon Conway, came into the field as an opener and smashed 65 runs against 44 balls. His opening partner Faf Du Plessis went back to the pavilion after scoring 18.
Despite having multiple hard hitters and talent batters in the team, TSK's middle order was unimpressive and couldn't sustain the monument Conway created. South African allrounder Calvin Savage came to the rescue batting at number seven and took the team to a fightable total of 185. Savage individually amesed unbeaten 53 against 34 deliveries.
MI New York's top order tumbled when Adam Milne strikes early. Monank Patel's 62 kept his team into the game and then, Mitchell Bracewell- Kieron Pollard duo was in charge to gift MI a cruising victory. When the situation was looking under control from the New York based team, Plessis did that unthinkable job at the age of 40.
Bracewell hit the ball hard towards mid-wicket in the 2nd ball of the 14th over. The well connected shot could have found the gape but the Faf fly into the air at his right side and took an extraordinary catch to dismiss the New Zealand allrounder. Arguably that's the turning point of the match. Super Kings won the contest by only 3 runs.
