A pure captain's knock by Shreyas Iyer. He dragged his team from the bay of elimination to the final of IPL 2025; Iyer's timely knock under pressure is encrypted as one of the best innings of the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke couldn't stop expressing his feelings after watching such a controlled innings. During his commentary works, Clarke said, "Indian selectors, take a note. Shreyas Iyer has performed under pressure."
In a rain-interrupted elimination match, cricketers can find it difficult to maintain their focus, especially when a match was delayed for more than a couple of hours. Iyer pushed the paddles during a Reece Topley over when Punjab Kings' skipper launched back-to-back three sixes in a row.
After stabilizing the innings, Iyer and Josh Inglis shifted their gears at the right time in the second innings; later, the remaining power-hitting job was perfectly done by Nehal Wadhera, a former Mumbai Indians player. Iyer remained unbeaten and left the field after pushing his team to the final, where they'll face Royal Challengers Bengaluru tomorrow.

The right-handed batter individually got 87 of 41 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and eight over boundaries, strike rate 212.20. Iyer joined Punjab Kings this season after winning the IPL 2024 trophy last year with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Despite multiple match-saving knocks and brilliance in leadership, the middle-order batter's career remained underrated. He has taken his performance to another level after being eliminated from BCCI's central contract. From there, he bounced back, proved his mettle, and recovered his spot in the men in blue jerseys.
