Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya, captains of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), respectively, have to pay a hefty fee for breaching the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses during Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Along with the captains, players of the playing XI, including impact players from both sides, have to pay a penalty for maintaining a slow over rate. Pandya and his boys have to pay more because it was the third time they broke the rule, and for Iyer and his XI, it was the second instance.
According to the official press release by IPL, "Iyer was fined INR 24 lakhs. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is less."
