Raigad Royals (RRD) kicked off their MPL 2025 campaign with a thrilling 24-run win over Satara Warriors (SW) at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Led by captain Rushabh Rathod’s explosive 80 and a steady 48 from Impact Player Rugved More, RRD posted a strong total of 190/6. Their bowlers, especially Nikhil Kadam and Tanay Sanghvi, held their nerve under pressure to restrict SW to 166/7 and seal a confident victory.
Opting to bat first, Raigad Royals put up a solid score of 190/6 in 20 overs. Caretaker Rushabh Rathod laid the groundwork with an explosive 80 off 45 balls consisting of 6 fours and 5 sixes, complimented by Rugved More as Impact Player and well-constructed innings of 48 off 41 balls, and Harsh Sanghvi finished with a quick 18 off 8 balls. On the bowling front, Rajvardhan Hangargekar was the pick of the bowlers for SWT with 3/42, and Vaibhav Dhurugunde (2/33) and Jagdish Zope (1/34) took important wickets.
The Satara Warriors' reply was 166/7 in their 20 overs, falling short despite some good innings. Om Bhosale led the innings with an aggressive innings of 45 off 29 balls, while Harshal Kate anchored the innings with 38 off 34, and Aniket Porwal provided momentum down the order with 31 off 14 balls. RRO's disciplined bowling was led by Nikhil Kadam, who took the accolades with 3/32, whilst Tanay Sanghvi (2/28) and Sagar Jadhav (2/41) produced well-timed wickets for RRD.
