In Match 6 of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 on Sunday, Puneri Bappa (PB) crushed Raigad Royals (RGD) easily by 99 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. After losing the toss and being put into bat, PB batted very well this time and made a massive, match-winning total.
Puneri Bappa won the toss and decided to bat first. They set an imposing score of 202/4 in 20 overs. Yash Nahar led the way with a brilliant 82 off 52 balls, with 8 fours and 4 sixes. He was well supported by Rushikesh Sonavne with 58 off 40 balls. The two batsmen built a great platform for the last few overs. Suraj Shinde then came in and launched an assault with 40 off just 12 balls*, which included 5 sixes. Even though the Raigad bowlers like Sagar Jadhav (1/31), Nikhil Kadam (1/37), and Tanay Sanghvi (1/44) tried, the PB batsmen commanded every aspect of the innings.
Raigad Royals started their innings and fell apart, losing all their wickets for 103 runs in just 13.1 overs, handing Puneri Bappa a convincing 99-run victory. Only Rushabh Rathod could put up any resistance with the bat, making a brilliant 46 in just 21 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 3 fours, with the rest of the batting lineup collapsing behind him, with no one else even scoring 20 runs. Nikit Dhumal was the dominant bowler with a great spell of 5/39 in 4 overs, and Sachin Bhosale kept the pressure with his well-bowled spell of 2/15. The batting collapse meant that the Royals' chase fell further away from what looked like a formidable chase, destroyed by a complete bowling performance.
