On Match 9 of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, Ratnagiri Jets (RJ) beat Raigad Royals (RGD) by 67 runs. RGD won the toss and decided to field first, but RJ made the most of the chance to score a big total. Their batsmen produced an authoritative performance, and their bowlers supported it nicely to destroy RGD's pursuit. The all-around performance saw RJ achieve an easy and convincing victory.
Put in first to bat, Ratnagiri Jets scored an imposing 187/4 in their 20 overs. Captain Azim Kazi led the charge with a quick-fire 72 off 38 balls, cleanly hitting and anchoring the innings while ably supported by Dhiraj Phatangare, who added a reliable 57 off 43 balls in a significant partnership. Atharva Dharmadhikari chipped in with a handy 23 as RJ built a strong platform. The Raigad Royals bowlers failed to control the runs, while the Jets looked for a few economical bowling spells.
Pursuing 188 for the win, Raigad Royals lost their way in the early stages and never regained it, ending with 120/9 from their 20 overs. The top order of their batsmen didn't sparkle, and none of the batsmen reached 20 runs, Niraj Joshi hitting the highest with a mere 19. RJ bowlers were merciless, Satyajeet Bachhav coming out with a match-winning 3/17 in 4 overs. He was well supported by Pradeep Dadhe (2/16) and Prathamesh Gawade (2/28), who kept the pressure on throughout. In the end, the Royals fell short by a massive 67 runs as RJ sealed a dominant win.
