Namo Bandra Blasters (NBB) edged a heart-stopping 1-run triumph over Aakash Tigers MWS (ATM) while defending 153 in Mumbai T20 2025 Match 9 at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, on June 06, 2025. This edge-of-the-seat triumph strengthened NBB's position in the tournament table, reflecting their capacity to keep their cool in a pressure-cooker finish. ATM won the toss and decided to bowl.
NBB scored 153 for 10 in 20 overs, with the top batting being done by Om Keshamat, who contributed 40 runs off 31 balls, and Dhrumil Matkar chipping in with 33 off 31. Suved Parkar added a brief 14 off 10, but the middle order failed to capitalize on the beginning, losing wickets at frequent intervals. ATM's bowlers were impressive, with Shams Mulani leading the charge, taking 3 wickets for 12 runs. Kruthik Hanagavadi had 2 for 37, and Zaid Patankar took 1 for 27. Their strong death overs bowling, in particular, hindered NBB from scoring a late flourish, keeping the score in reach.
Chasing 154, ATM fell agonizingly short at 152 for 8 in 20 overs. Jay Bista anchored the innings with a well-made 55 off 48 balls, supported by Arjun Dani’s 47 off 35 and Siddharth Akre’s 21 off 19. Despite these efforts, the rest of the batting lineup failed to maintain the required momentum. NBB's bowling attack was top-notch, with Dhanit Raut spearheading the cause, claiming 4 for 30. Atharva Poojari helped out with 2 for 26, while Sagar Chabria claimed 1 for 9. Their bowling in the last overs was so tight that ATM couldn't hit the boundary required on the last ball, allowing NBB to win a thriller. This outcome showed the depth of NBB bowling and the calmness, and ATM will regret giving away their chances during the chase.
