The photo frame would not have been completed without these two legends, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Gayle and Villiers were all prepared to celebrate the much-awaited moment of their cricketing journey. Virat Kohli, the solitary man from the beginning of the journey of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), was accompanied by multiple great players, but Gayle and Villiers, with Kohli, were possibly the most fierce trio in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The prime time of the trio with RCB, despite playing record-breaking innings multiple times, Bengaluru stayed separated from the glory. They had to wait for 18 long years. In the meantime, these two legends had already retired from cricket, leaving only 'VK 18' as the lone warrior from the past. 

Kohli, as I said before, had multiple chances to switch ships, but he stayed loyal with Bengaluru. He offered everything possible to the team that he could. He could've cherished his IPL dream with any other IPL club, but his heart always with RCB, which finally paid him; Kohli kissed his dream with the franchise closest to his heart.

Throughout the 18 years journey, Kohli broke all the hurdles he could

"Well, it's right up there, if I have to be honest. As I said, I've given everything that I had for the last 18 years. I've stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise, but I stuck to this team. I stood behind them; they stood behind me. And I always dreamt of winning it with them," Virat said this after winning IPL 2025, defeating Punjab Kings. 

"And this is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore; my soul is with Bangalore. And as I said, this is the team I'm going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL. So this one is absolutely right up there because, you know, as a sportsman, when you grind for something, and this is a very high-intensity, high-quality tournament, which is of great value in world cricket today.
