After England easily won their first men's international of the summer, a Test match against Zimbabwe by an innings, the focus shifts to white ball cricket with the beginning of their three-match ODI series. In recent years, England has won only nine of their 26 ODIs since the start of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, culminating in their elimination from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy group stage after losing all three games. Shai Hope has led the West Indies in this format for a few years, but the team's overall performance has been disappointing. He hopes that the iconic Edgbaston Stadium will serve as the backdrop for his team's ODI resurgence.

Although England enters this game on a seven-game ODI losing streak, having lost 2-1 to the West Indies last year, this is an entirely new phase for the team. They still possess plenty of batting firepower and ball-playing experience, and after the West Indies struggled against Ireland, we predict a home victory. Considering the team combination, England is expected to win this match.
